Fall Colors in Arashiyama, Kyoto

Alien came to Arashiyama, Kyoto for seeing fall colors.
This is a famous bride called Togetsukyo.
Weather is nice. Let's explore.
Alien first went to Tenryuji (Tenryu Temple).
Everywhere in Arashiyama was crowded in this season.
Alien paid 500 yen to see their garden. Let's go.
Red leaves and blue sky.
Beautiful.
It is also nice to look at leaves closely.

Banboos and red Japanese maples together are beautiful as well.

Bamboos are planted on both side of the walk street.
The owner must keep the bamboo forest beautiful. Nice rays of sun light.

It opens to public only during fall colors season.

紅葉狩りin嵐山 京都
はて、エイリアンです。
なすびではありません。
ワタクシ、紅葉狩りに京都は嵐山へやってまいりました。
こちら、渡月橋です。
お天気に恵まれて良かったです。いざ、散策。
まずはこちら、天龍寺さん。
紅葉シーズンで嵐山はどこも混んでおりました。
お庭のみの拝観料500円を支払い、いざ。
青空に赤が映えますね。
美しい。
近くで見るのもいいですよね。
不思議な形の葉です。
竹林と紅葉というのも美しいですね。
お手入れが行き届いたお庭です。
落ち葉を愛でるのも良いですね。
苔の緑と岩の白、そして紅葉の赤。
きれいなお池もありました。
世界遺産！
存分にお庭を堪能したので、今度は別のお寺に行ってみましょう。
道端の紅葉もまた美しく、ついついカメラを向けてしまいます。

次の目的地へ向かう途中、「竹林の道（竹林の小径）」を通りました。
道の両脇に竹が植えられています。
太陽の光が丁度よく差し込むようにお手入れしているんでしょうね。
紅葉とはまた違った、凛とした美しさ。
さて、常寂光寺に着きましたよ。
こちらは拝観料400円。

紅葉の季節限定で一般公開されるそうですよ。

拝観料500円を払い、中へ。
鮮やかな紅葉が出迎えてくれました。

有名なお寺と比べるとだいぶこじんまりとした場所ですが、その分静かで気に入りました。

紅葉のピークは逃してしまった感がありますが、充分楽しめました。

Alien visitied La Jolla Cove. It took only 30 mins from the Old Town by bus.
It is famous for seal watching.

Dear Seals, how are you today?
It is Children's Pool.
This calm beach with a seawall was originally made for children of mankind, but seals settled down instead.

Depending on time, seals crawring up rocks, and visitors can see them very close.
Alien found a souvenir shop.

オールドタウンからバスで30分、ラホヤ・コーヴ(入り江)へやってまいりました。
アザラシが間近に見られる場所として有名です。

早速いましたよ！
アザラシさん、こんにちは。
こちらはチルドレンズ・プール。
防波堤を作って、子供向けの砂浜にする予定だったそうなのですが、アザラシさんが住み着いてしまったのだそうです。
ざっぱーん。
時間によっては、すぐ目と鼻の先までアザラシさんが上がってきますよ。
お土産物屋さんを発見。

なんと、お土産物屋さんの中から洞窟探検に行けるそうですよ。5ドル。
さっそく行ってみましょう。
濡れていて滑りやすい階段をそろりそろりと降りていきます。

ワタクシ、カリフォルニアはサンディエゴのオールドタウンへやってきました。
オールドタウンでは、サンディエゴがまだメキシコだったころの街並みが再現されていますよ。

Takoyaki in Dotonbori, Osaka (Nihonichi Otako, Tako Hachi, Kukuru, and Achichi Honpo)

Alien am surronded by Osaka dialect everyday.
Let's explore a very Osaka place first.
Alien came to Dotonbori, a famous street in Osaka. Very crowded.
This is Kani Doraku, a famous crab restaurant.
A walk-to-eat crab legs? Surprising.
This is Mr. or Ms. Kanipon, Kanidoraku mascot.
Very friendly crab.
Alien must say hello to Mr. Kuidaore Taro, an Osaka icon.

Well, Alien want to eat takoyaki. Takoyaki is one of the most popular foods in Osaka!
Alien tried four takoyaki places a guy at information corner recommended.
Alien went to "Nihonichi Otako(Japanese No.1 Big Octopus)" first.
A long line.
This place is popular! They always cook takoyaki so their takoyaki is always fresh.
Great cook.
This place puts big octopus in takoyaki, as their name shows.
Looks yummy.
Let's eat.
Fresh and very hot. Melts in mouth.
A big piece of octopus in each ball. Feel like Alien eat octopus, not takoyaki.
Their sauce isn't too sweet and bestows favors on octopus. Yum yum.
Alien went to "Tako Hachi (Octopus Eight)" next.

They also serve freshly-cooked takoyaki.
Alien enjoyed conversation with the guys while they were making takoyaki.
Let's eat.
Wow this takoyaki melts! Strong flavor of soup stock with a few flavor of leek and pickled ginger. Alien enjoyed good flavors of batter. Yum yum.
They use copper plates while many other takoyaki places use iron plates.
Let's have more. Alien went to "Kukuru."
There was a looong wait line for "to-go" takoyaki.
Alien went to their eat-in space.
Same price. Let's not wait outsite and eat here.
Alien ordered their plain takoyaki.
650 yen (about 6.5 US dollars). A bit pricey compared to other places.
Alien put sauce and toppings. Let's eat.
Alien felt a lot of eggs in it. It was like an omlet. Not melting but fluffly.
Strong soup flavor and fresh octpus.
Their sauce is a bit sweeter than other places. Alien liked it.
Alien went to "Achichi Honpo."
A long wait line as well.
Popular places are always busy and serve freshly-cooked takoyaki. Worth for waiting.
Great cook.
So many foreign visitors are at this place. It may be introduced in guidebooks or something for foreign tourists.
Let's eat.
They asked if Alien want leeks (and Alien said yes). This is probably because some foreign visitors don't like leeks. Pickled-gingers are also on side, not cooked togeter in takoyaki.
Their takoyaki don't melt as ones in other places. Fresh octopus in it.
Their sauce is not sweet, which is unique in Alien's opinion.
