Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, St. Louis, Missouri

Well... It's me, Alien

Cathedral, chilly wind, and Alien.

Alien went to Cathedral Basilica that located in west side of St Louis downtown.

This Cathedral is famous for its huge mosaic art.

This picture consists of numerous small tiles.

Spectacular!

Mosaics cover almost all walls and ceilings.

It took about 75 years to complete the mosaics.

These picutres are also mosaics.
In total, the mosaics contain more than 40 million pieces of tiles, in more than 7000 colors.

Even these red ceilings are mosaics.

Alien felt enthusiasm for a religion.

Alien thought Alien should respect faith of others.

Alien don't know well about religions in the earth , though.

Alien often find water beside an entrance of a church.

Alien found water in this cathedral too.

This is holy water, that is blessed in a special manner.

It is not a finger bowl.

Alien heard that Christians dip their fingers in it and cross themselves to remember their baptisms.

This is a precious thing  for Christian.Never make fun of that.

We need respect for each other.
