Centro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Well...It's me, Alien.
Alien am studying Portuguese.
This is Alien's final report in Rio de Janeiro, Brazi.
Alien came to Centro (old downtown).
Several buildings from the age of Portuguese domination remain in Rio de Janeiro.
Tiradentes Palace (Palacio Tiradentes).
Mr. Tiradentes was a leader of the Brazilian revolutionary movement. He was killed here.
This palace offers visitors free guided tours.
This is Royal Portuguese Library (Real Gabinete Portugues Da Leitural).
It must have good resources for Alien's research on the earth.
Let's get in.
Well, visitors can't touch the books. The books are historically important and need to be presereved properly.
Sad, but Alien could enjoy the atmosphere.
This libary is often called "library in fantasy." Yes it was.
Alien also found coloful buildings in the town.
This is Selaron Steps (Escadaria do Selarón).
Mr. Selaron, a Chilean-born artist, spent over 20 years to make this.
The tiles are from all over the world.
Alien found a pop station after climbing Selaron Steps.
This is a station for trolley cars.
Trolley cars hadn't run since 2011 due to an accident, but they started running from the end of July 2015.
On a way back to Centro, Alien found something strange.
Is it a space ship?
It may be nice to get back to Alien's home planet for a vacation. Let's ride.
Ah, it's a church, not a space ship!
This is called Rio de Janeiro Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastiãno).
The coloful stained-glass windows are impressive.
Alien can't go home. Let's go back to Milwaukee then.
