Gion Festival, Kyoto Japan
Well...It's me, Alien.
Summer in Japan.
Alien am staying in Japan.
Alien am having a summer vacation.
Festivals are great events to go in Japan, during summer,
Alien went to Yoiyama festival, a part of Gion festival that lasts a month in Kyoto.
People, people, and people. Alien will go into that crowd.
Yoiyama festival is a day to display "Yama" and "Hoko" floats.
This is the Naginata Hoko froat.
Its top shapes like Naginata (blade).
...This photo doesn't capture its top though.
It was hard to take good photos since there were so many people there.
There are several Yama and Hoko froats in Gion festival.
This Naginata froat is special because it leads the procession of Yama and Hoko froats.
From the side.
Children on the Hoko were playing Japanese traditional music.
The strings were moving vertically with the music instruments they were playing. Good music for the summer festival.
There were other Hoko froats on the street.
Alien saw "Tsuki Boko" (Moon Hoko).
This is a lantern saying "Tsuki Boko" in Japanese.
This is the Tsuki Boko.
Its top looks like the moon.
\
...It was hard to capture the top part.
Those Hokos don't use any nails.
Japanese technology.
It is fun to look around stalls in festivals.
