Alien make friends in Aomori.

This is Mr. Sho Hayabusa. He welcomed Alien at Shin-Aomori station. Very cool.

Alien went to Aomori for some reason.

Alien arrived at Shin-Aomori station by Shinkansen. Then Alien went to Aomori station by local train.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173610j:plain

Let's eat something local.

Alien found Nebuta near the exit.

(Wikipedia entry of Nebita: Aomori Nebuta Matsuri - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

f:id:alientravel:20150723173603j:plain

Aomori loves Nebuta!

Alien went to a restaurant called Osanai. It was close to Aomori station.

 f:id:alientravel:20150721144752j:plain

This place's speciality is scallops.

A lot of nice options. Hard to decide...

f:id:alientravel:20150723173552j:plain

Well, Alien decided to eat scallops dishes. Aomori is famous for scallops.

This is scallops with miso on a shell.

 f:id:alientravel:20150723173542j:plain

Sea urchin on top.

It was light miso taste. Pieces of fresh scallops in it.

This is deep-fried scallops set.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173517j:plain

Lightly-cooked scallops were yum yum!

Alien prefer more crispy batter, but scallops may be overcooked if the cheif cook them more.

Alien was happy with the dishes.

Let's take a walk.

f:id:alientravel:20150721144954j:plain

Nice sea breeze.

Alien found a building called "Asupamu." It is open for tourists.

Let's look around.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173502j:plain

Nebuta again. Aomori does love Nebuta.

Aomori is famous for apples.

Alien found an apple pie place in the Asupamu.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173450j:plain

Several kinds.

Their apple pies are from scratch.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173444j:plain

Hummmm they look so good...

Let's have a dessert.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173435j:plain

Cripsy pie and fresh apple are great partners.

Wow, scallop soft ice cream?

 f:id:alientravel:20150723173440j:plain

That must be only in Aomori. Let's try.

Let's eat.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173413j:plain

Huuu it is basically vanilla tasate but its finish is scallop.

Sweet and salty. Alien like it.

...Oops!

f:id:alientravel:20150723173407j:plain

Ah no...Alien touched ice cream.

Alien's hand would smell like scallops.

What should Alien do?

Well...let's go to hot spring!

Alien went to Asamushi onsen(hot spring) by train, about 25-minute ride from Aomori station.

f:id:alientravel:20150721145358j:plain

Let's go.

Well, local mascots are anywhere in Japan.

Great country.

Alien came to Kaisenkaku, a hotel opens its public bath for visitors. About 5-minute walk from Asamushi station.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173214j:plain

This place has the largest public bath in Asamushi onsen.

Alien am neither man nor woman. Today Alien need to use women's bath for some reason.

f:id:alientravel:20150721145745j:plain

Let's take scallop smell off.

Alien didn't take photos in the bath.

Alien don't mind to publish Alien's rude, but Alien can't take photos of naked ladies there.

There are hot bath, warm bath, and outside bath. Alien liked this place.

Alien am hungry now.

Let's eat more fresh sea foods.

Alien found a small restaurant at seaside. About 15-minute walk from Asamushi station.  f:id:alientravel:20150723173206j:plain

Fisherman's place Madadate restaurant.

Many living scallops, awabi clams (abalone), and sea urchins in the tub.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173151j:plain

They mush be fresh!

He is a poster parrot.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173157j:plain

He says "Hello" only to foreign visitors. He said nothing to Alien though.

Let's  order.

f:id:alientravel:20150721145846j:plain

So many kinds of dishes in this small restaurant.

Alien first ordered a grilled sazae (turbo comutus/horned turban).

f:id:alientravel:20150723173033j:plain

This is Alien's first experience of sazae.

Huuuu... the liver part is very bitter. The body part is firm and crunchy.

This must be so good for sazae lovers. It wasn't Alien's taste though.

This is scallop sashimi set.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173136j:plain

Huge!

Let's eat.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173129j:plain

Plenty of sashimi. Very thick and fresh. Yum yum yum!

The grilled scallop is fresh and flavorful. Yum yum.

Alien can't have that quality of scallops with this price in Tokyo. Never in Milwaukee.

Alien really enjoyed scallops in Aomori.

…Well, Alien want to take another bath before going home.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173358j:plain

This is Akitaya hotel. About 5-minute walk from Asamushi station.

 Nebuta again.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173349j:plain

Aomori people do love Nebuta.

Alien found a Hanagasa, a decorated hat for summer festival.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173339j:plain

…too big for Alien.

Let's take a bath.

f:id:alientravel:20150721145524j:plain

 Women's bath again.

Put your valuable belongins in a locker and take off your clothes.

f:id:alientravel:20150721145531j:plain

Alien have nothing to take off.

Let's enjoy onsen!

f:id:alientravel:20150723173316j:plain

Oh, nobody is here now.

Great chance to take photos!

Let's get into the bath tub.

f:id:alientravel:20150723173225j:plain
