Metro Washington, D.C.
Well...It's me, Alien.
It took a while, but this is Alien's another report of Washington, D.C.
Alien report Metro in D.C..
There is no Metro in Wisconsin where Alien live, but urban areas have well-established Metro systems even in the U.S.
The display didn't say "the train will arrive at xx:xx" but said "the train will arrive in xx minutes." It was different from Japan's Metro system.
They asked Alien to buy a card, charge on it, and touch it on an automatic ticket gate. Technology! This reminded Alien of Japanse Metro system.
On a train. It was clean. Many passengers.
A passing young guy gave this card to Alien when Alien tried to figure out how to buy a ticket at the Metro station in the airport. About a dollar was left in the card. Appriciated.
Metro Map.
Alien could go to major signtseeing spots by train.
Alien took off the train and took an escalator to get out of the station.
Metro runs quite deep in the ground.
This loooooong escalator stopped once while Alien's stay.
Alien climbed up the stairs. Alien's feet were swollen when Alien got the ground.
It took about 30 minutes from the airport to the main area, with one transit. Metro is way cheaper than shuttle buses and taxi. Alien recommend.
